About Me

I have almost 30 years of experience as a psychotherapist, coach, and trainer. My unique understanding of psycho-dynamics, interpersonal relations and coaching  helps  you focus on your beliefs and moment-to-moment interactions, in order for you to achieve your goals and desires. My five plus decades of personal experience with adversity and success inform every one of the strategies I employ in our work together. I am excited to share my inside knowledge of resilience, creativity and community with you.

An ICF-designated Master Coach (MCC) as well as a Certified Co-Active Coach (CPCC), I am considered an elder in the coaching community. As a CTI (Coaches Training Institute) faculty member, I have led Co-Active Coaching Certification Program training courses. I currently supervise coaches, and examine candidates for their Co-Active Professional Coach designation. In 1996, recognizing my commitment to quality control and to maintaining a high level of professionalism in the coaching community, the founders of CTI asked me to become one of the first two Co-Active Coaching Certification Program Examiners.

I have a thriving international coaching and consulting practice. I have worked with people from every continent and have coached people between the ages of 18 and 92. I currently specialize in working with coaches, innerpreneurs and entrepreneurs. I am the lead coach for the Effective Influence Conference, a semiannual experiential learning gathering focusing on diversity, interpersonal communication and personal growth.

Coaches: I work with people just like you who are dedicated to maintaining high standards in the coaching profession. My clients have chosen this profession because they want to make a difference. They also take the word “professional” very seriously, and want to offer the best possible service that they can deliver. If you get great satisfaction out of helping people live fulfilled and balanced lives, you deserve the joy and security of becoming a master of your coaching craft.

Leaders: I work with people who are world leaders. My clients know their value and want to share their gifts with the world. They are motivated and hungry for life's full banquet and are unwilling to settle for just an appetizer or two. If you are fully committed to your vision, you deserve to have a coach who is tenacious, who will hold your feet to the fire (after rubbing them will aloe vera to prevent burns) and will go the full-distance with you. Your gifts are too precious to waste!

Seekers: I work with people who are intent on finding and making meaning of theirs lives. My clients love pursuing fully-examined lives. They increase their positive impact in the world and derive deep satisfaction and peace from creating meaningful lives for themselves and others.

Connection is one of my top values. One of my clients laughingly told me that “You give good phone!” after a particularly powerful session.  As I was losing my hearing several years ago, I invested in every technological device that I could find to maintain my intimate connection to clients. Consequently, I am comfortable working with you in a variety of ways including using my web cam which will allow us to see one another in the comfort of your own home.

I have been a frequent contributor to several coaching email lists, and my writing has appeared in the CTI newsletter, The Inquiry. I wrote a monthly coaching advice column in the Co-Active Network News called “Ask Judith.” I applied life-coaching principles in the health and fitness column that I co-wrote for the San Leandro Times in 1997. I also authored the original CTI Professional Coaching Course Manual.

I was invited in November, 2003 to become a member of the Stanford Graduate Business School T-Group Facilitator program. I work with second-year Stanford MBA students as well as third-year University of San Francisco law students to help facilitate authoritative, clear, and direct communications that create increased influence, foster interdependence, and resolve conflicts.

Spirituality is a very a important part of my life. I’m intent on finding and creating meaning out of all experiences. While I was born a Jew, I believe in the sanctity of all spiritual traditions. I am an ordained non-denominational minister in the Church of the Gentle Brothers and Sisters. I specialize in performing interfaith marriages, gay and lesbian marriages, house blessings and funerals.

My very first professional job was that of librarian. I am a proudly unrecovered and unrepentant “book addict”. I read all the time and will frequently alert you to books or articles that I have read that will inspire you, educate you and/or amuse you. While books are my “drug of choice”, I also “mainline” the Internet continuously.

I am an effervescent and tireless coach who loves to create authentic, connected relationships with my clients. I am proud of not separating who I am at work from who I am at home. I see my life as a personal growth laboratory, and I’m always happy to share the outcome of my “experiments.” I have been described as “able to see the humor and learning in anything.”
